Project coordinator Dr. Snežana Maletić,
is a full professor on the Chair of Chemical Technology and Environmental Protection at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad. She studied at the Faculty of Sciences and has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemistry and a PhD in Chemical Sciences. The focus of her scientific work has been on the water and sediment quality, remediation technologies, bioavailability and biodegradability of organic/inorganic contaminants, chemical risk assessment and impact of organic soil amendments on soil properties. She participated in more than 50 projects and studies related to research in environmental protection and technology. She carried out scientific work as a contributor to 7 international projects and 15 national and regional projects. Snežana is a project coordinator of the Horizon TwinSubDyn twinning project, and coordinator of the Serbian team in Horizon Phy2Climate project. She is a chief of the Laboratory for environmental chemical analysis “dr Milena Dalmacija” accredited according to ISO 17025 protocols from 2012. She is co-author of more than 300 publications, of which 71 are in journals of international importance.
Dr. Marijana Kragulj Isakovski
is full professor on the Chair of Chemical Technology and Environmental Protection at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad. She studied at the Faculty of Sciences and has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in biochemistry, and a PhD in Environmental Sciences. The focus of her scientific work has been on the water and sediment quality, remediation technologies, bioavailability and biodegradability of organic/inorganic contaminants, chemical risk assessment and impact of organic soil amendments on soil properties. She carried out scientific work as a contributor to 5 international and 6 national projects, as well as through active participation in studies in the field of environmental protection and technology. She is co-author of more than 200 publications, of which 41 in journals of international importance. She works as an analyst in the Laboratory for environmental chemical analysis “Dr Milena Dalmacija” accredited according to ISO17025 protocols. She is a member of the Serbian Chemical Society, EuChem and IUPAC.
Dr Tijana Zeremski,
is a Principal Research Fellow at the IFVCNS. Her areas of expertise are agro-ecology, soil quality and pollution, heavy metals behavior in soils, phytoextraction of metals from soils, and pollutants uptake by plants. Besides heavy metals uptake by plants, she is also involved in research on primary and secondary metabolites in agricultural plants. She published 55 publications in high-ranking journals and participated in more than 30 international and national projects. Currently, she is involved in the realization of one Horizon 2020 project, Phy2Climate (GA 101006912), and three HE projects, CROPINNO (GA 101059784), MIDAS (GA 101082070), and CARINA (GA 101081839).
Stanko Milić ,
in 2002 from the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad. He completed his master's studies in 2008. In 2010, he was elected to the position of research associate for the scientific field of Biotechnical Science. He defended his doctoral dissertation in 2016 at the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Belgrade with the thesis entitled: "Distribution and forms of phosphorus in carbonate chernozem depending on the corn cultivation system". He was elected to the title of Senior research associate in the scientific field of Biotechnical Science in 2021.
As an author and co-author, he participated in the publication of over 240 publications (32 published in international journals). All papers are from the narrow scientific discipline of physics, chemistry and soil biology and are the result of field and laboratory soil research with statistical and geostatistical processing of the results. He participated in dozens of scientific projects in cooperation with research institutions, international organizations and business companies. These projects ranged from basic research to expertise and solutions according to specific requirements.
He is a member of the Society for Soil Studies of Serbia (DPZS), International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS). He speaks English and is fluent in Italian and Russian.
Field of research/expertise: Research in the field of soil, agrochemistry, irrigation, agroecology, environmental protection, phytoremediation, soil characterization under vineyards and application of modern technologies in agriculture.
Dr. Jasna Atanasijević,
Atanasijević is Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Informatics of the Faculty of Science, University of Novi Sad. She deals with applied economic research and analysis for the needs of public policies and management. Jasna received her doctorate in applied economics in 2013 at the University of Paris 1 - Sorbonne. In 2023, she was a visiting researcher at Georgetown University (McCourt School of Public Policy). At the Faculty of Sciences, she teaches finance and the basics of economics at the Department of Mathematics and Informatics of the Faculty of Science, University of Novi Sad.
Dr. Jelena Beljin,
is associate professor on the Chair of Chemical Technology and Environmental Protection at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad. She studied at the Faculty of Sciences and has a bachelor and master degree in Chemistry-Quality Control and Environmental Management, and a PhD in Environmental Sciences. The focus of her scientific work has been on the water and sediment quality, remediation technologies, bioavailability and biodegradability of organic/inorganic contaminants, chemical risk assessment and impact of organic soil amendments on soil properties. She carried out scientific work as a contributor to 5 international and 6 national projects, as well as through active participation in studies in the field of environmental protection and technology. She is a leader on one bilateral cooperation with Republic Belarus and one national project funded by Science Fund of Republic of Serbia. She is co-author of more than 100 publications, of which 25 in journals of international importance. She works as an analyst in the Laboratory for environmental chemical analysis “Dr Milena Dalmacija” accredited according to ISO17025 protocols. Dragana Tamindžija,
is an teaching assistant with PhD at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Novi Sad. She received her PhD in 2019 on the topic "Isolation and characterization of Cr(VI) tolerant soil bacteria". Since 2012, she has been engaged in practical teaching at undergraduate and master studies.
The focus of her research is the role of microorganisms in monitoring and improving the quality of the environment. Specifically, she deals with microbiological environmental monitoring, chromium-resistant bacteria, characterization of the microbiome of environmental samples, isolation and characterization of organic pollutant degrader microorganisms and their application in bioremediation of polluted sediment and soil. She participated in 6 and managed one scientific project. She is the co-author of 12 papers in journals from the SCI list, 31 announcements at national and international scientific meetings, as well as one technical solution. The competency index is 95.2, and the h-index is 6. During her PhD studies, she spent two study stays at the Institute of Molecular Biology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava and at the Polytechnic Federal School in Lausanne. As part of the ReNBES PRIZMA project, she will be responsible for examining the biological status of the soil, which will include determining the enzymatic activities of microorganisms, the abundance of different physiological groups of microorganisms, as well as the analysis of the composition of the microbial community through the analysis of 16S rRNA.
Dr. Tamara Apostolović,
is a teaching assistant on several bachelor and master courses realised by the Chair of Chemical Technology and Environmental Protection at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad. She studied at the Faculty of Sciences and has a bachelor and master degree in Environmental Protection, and a PhD in Environmental Sciences. The focus of her scientific work has been on the transport of organic micropollutants in the environment, impact of organic soil amendments on soil properties, organic trace analysis, water, soil and sediment quality. Her research included interaction of contaminants with carbon materials. She carried out scientific work as a contributor to 3 international and 4 national projects, as well as through active participation in studies in the field of environmental protection and technology. She is co-author of more than 65 publications, of which 11 in journals of international importance. She works as an analyst in the Laboratory for environmental chemical analysis “Dr Milena Dalmacija” accredited according to ISO17025 protocols. Dr. Marko Šolić
is a research assistant at the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Sciences, Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Environmental Protection. He completed his studies at the Faculty of Sciences, earning both a bachelor's and a master's degree in Environmental Protection. Additionally, he holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences. His scientific work has been primarily focused on investigating the viability of utilizing modern carbon materials to treat water media contaminated with heavy metals through the process of adsorption. Additionally, he has gained experience working at a complex semi-industrial facility dedicated to investigating and monitoring various approaches in the field of drinking water treatment. Recently, he has been exploring the presence and behavior of black carbon within the soil. He has participated in 3 international and 7 national projects, along with numerous studies in the field of environmental protection and technology. He is a co-author of 29 publications, with 9 of them featured in globally recognized journals. He is a member of the Serbian Chemical Society and the Educational Center for Environmental Protection. Dr. Irina Jevrosimov
Research Assistant at University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Sciences (Title of PhD thesis: Sorption and biodegradation potential of selected organic pollutants in river alluvial sediment in the presence of carbon materials). Research area is physical-chemical interactions in the environment with a focus on the fate of organic pollutants in the presence of carbon-based materials, such as biochar and hydrochar. She participates in two national projects and one international project. She is the author of two papers published in a prominent international journal, the author or co-author of 11 announcements from an international meeting printed in an excerpt of the category M34, three announcements from a meeting of national importance printed in the entirety of the category M63 and one announcement from a meeting of national importance printed in an excerpt of the category M64. She is also a member of the Serbian Chemical Society.
MSc Nina Đukanović,
is a research assistant at the Faculty of Science, University of Novi Sad. She studied at the Faculty of Sciences and has a bachelor and master degree in Chemistry- Quality Control and Environmental Management. Currently, she is a PhD student in Environmental protection at the Faculty of Science. The focus of her scientific work has been on the remediation of sediment and soil polluted by different organic and inorganic pollutants, the transport of organic and inorganic pollutants, as well as the influence of organic amendments on soil characteristics and pollutant mobility. She carried out scientific work as a contributor to 3 international and 2 national projects. She is the co-author of 10 conference papers and 2 publications in journals of international importance. She works as an analyst in the Laboratory for environmental chemical analysis “Dr Milena Dalmacija” accredited according to ISO17025 protocols. MSc Agric. Eng. Ivana Bajić,
is a PhD student of Agronomy at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad, where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. In 2017, she started working at the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, National Institute of the Republic of Serbia, as a research trainee at the Laboratory for Soil and Agroecology. Since 2021 she has been an active member of Sunflower Department, Section for sugar beet, as a Research Assistant. As part of her PhD thesis, she has conducted an experimental investigation of the Evaporation from the free water surface as the basis of the irrigation regime of hemp for fiber production (Cannabis sativa subsp. Sativa). During her scientific career, she participated as an author and co-author in scientific papers, also Ivana took part in numerous conferences and projects and she is a member of Serbian Soil Science Society.
